Smaller quantities of brazilwood can make some beautiful, rosy pinks as well as these deeper reds. It's very sensitive to Ph. If I use my tap water in the bath it dyes an ugly purplish-brown color. Even rinsing it in tap water will shift the color slightly, although not badly. I get the richest reds if I dye and rinse in distilled water.
